Any individual or organization with a genuine interest in European mycology may apply to join the EMA as a Member or Associate. If you are interested in joining, please read further.

Membership benefits and membership admission

Members and Associates receive a discount when registering for Congresses of European Mycologists. Members may vote, and are eligible to serve as Delegates and Officers: Associates do not have these rights.
With the exception of Founder Members, admission as a Member requires the applicant to be recommended by two existing Members. Honorary Membership is only by election at the EMA General Assembly. Other new Members and Associates will be subject to approval by the next meeting of the EMA Governing Committee or by the EMA General Assembly, whichever occurs first. In other respects, admission as a Member or Associate shall follow the EMA’s current Rules. The Membership Secretary maintains lists of Members and Associates.

Categories and fees of Members and Associates

Lower income countries: Members and Associates from countries classified by the World Bank as low-income, lower-middle-income, or higher-middle-income economies.
Higher income countries: Members and Associates from all other countries.

Membership renewal and application for membership

Membership subscriptions deadline:

Fees are due on 1 January each year from all Members and Associates, except Honorary Members and Life Members. The Treasurer will endeavour to send individual reminders to all members including any arrears.

Please verify if your country has changed income status for the present year by checking this page.

Instructions for membership application:

Have two letters of recommendation by members of the EMA ready to be sent along with the application form.
Please refer to the Membership Secretary in case you need a list of the current EMA members in your country.

Proceed to the Membership Application Form, and fill out your information, including the letters of recommendation.

Submit your application. It will be processed by the Membership Secretary.
